There's No Excuse Nancy, It's Our Constitution

Here's the skinny on why she won't put impeachment on the table:

There are a significant number of Democrats who will not vote to impeach. Added to the Republicans who won't vote to impeach, the process, she claims, will be a futile effort which the Republicans will use to hammer the Democrats in the Fall Presidential campaign.

No matter how prescient she is on this score, she has, myopically, substituted restoration of respect for our constitution with partisan tactics to avoid presidential campaign acrimony.

Moreover, she has failed to grasp the process of impeachment.  She wants evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors to precede invocation of an inquiry to investigate alleged high crimes and misdemeanors. In fact there MUST be an inquiry to develop evidence.  A bill of impeachment simply requests the authority to pursue the allegations.  Prior to Clinton's impeachment, the Republicans introduced a bill to investigate. They had no hard evidence at the time. It was developed as part of the course of an official inquiry on the probable likelihood of impeachment.

Pelosi has it backwards, and no one except Congressman Wexler is calling her on it.

She should at least recognize that her grandchildren and ours will have fewer and fewer constitutional privileges because she placed the grime of politics above the grandeur of our constitutional safeguards.

So the question is,  by what authority does she deny Americans access to Constitutional remedies designed to examine and rectify unconstitutional acts by elected officials????

Someone look up misfeasance in office to see which of the four leadership persons Bush-Cheney-Pelosi-Hoyer  fit the bill.
