The Big Con Part I

There are, now, since 2001, treacherous undercurrents in the murky world of America's brand of democracy, capitalism and, freedom which threaten constitutional governance, judicial relief, and social accords designed to improve the pursuit of happiness in a democratic republic. Following are a few thoughts for the average guy to ponder when next you vote for a president:

Not since the Third Reich have so many cowardly, men and women succumbed to the lure of gaining preferred access to the Leader as their reward for trashing civil liberties guaranteed in our Constitution.

Five conservative Justices of the Supreme Court agreed that Bush would be harmed if the Florida recount was carried to its logical conclusion.  What about the harm to Al Gore since the recount was not carried to its logical conclusion?  An Attorney General who sucked up to Bush/Cheney and violated the US Code of Military Justice , Geneva Conventions and common sense to justify “water boarding,” and other forms of illegal torture, and renditions. Whoa to the US service person caught by our enemies.

A million or more African American servicemen and women, poor legal migrants and, middle class transient voters were disenfranchised in the 2004 election. Republicans used illegal "caging" schemes, for which several Republican operatives have been identified by witnesses who were under oath.  Yet, American Justice has not been swift in punishing the guilty or rendering its verdict for the victims....all Democrats. Since they got away with it this time they’ll get away with it next time. The privilege of voting according to the Republican Leadership should not be accorded to Black, Hispanic service men and women or those who are not home all the time.

It is so obvious that since only the wealthy (incomes above $200,000/yr) have truly prospered during the course of this Criminal Conspiracy Called The Bush Administration (CCCTBA), all others have fared less well. With median family incomes declining almost 3% in real terms for the first time since the depression, what future must await our children and grandchildren. This transfer of wealth occurred through the discriminatory tax policies of the CCCTBA and produced billionaires and millionaires as well as significant increases in the poverty level of America’s working class and middle class citizens.

Social Safety Net appropriations have declined 32% since fiscal 2000. Absolute poverty has increased primarily due to lower wages offered to illegal immigrants.  Contributing to the aforementioned rise in poverty is the Administrations' Compassionate Conservatism which raised the poverty income bar thereby reducing benefits for WIC recipients, and families not poor enough to have their children receive health care. And, for seniors, the wonderful prescription drug program, where competitive bidding is not allowed, forces them to eat the “donut hole.” These are the seniors with extraordinary prescription expenses and unfortunately reach the "donut hole" where no safety net exists.

And, the most damaging and destructive decision of this Criminal Conspiracy Called The Bush Administration remains it's unabashed use of borrowing authority.  How ironic that these so called fiscal conservatives and balanced budget freaks, have created the largest deficit and added more to the national debt than all preceeding adminstrations.  Moreover, the last three Republican Administrations account for 70% of our national debt, and 90% of the erosion of the U.S. dollar.

The fundamental cause of our explosion in domestic debt are the policies of the Federal Reserve.  Our banking system is severely oversubscribed, because of the fractional reserve policy of The Fed which creates from nothing one dollar, that dollar is transferred to a member banks and they can then loan out 10 dollars and charge to the borrower the prime rate plus.  The for-profit, private central bank known as the Federal Reserve, allows massive, nearly unfettered expansion of the money supply at extremely favorable rates to member banks.  In turn, that inflation devalues wages while creating false asset values especially harmful for middle class homeowners.

Today’s meltdown of subprime mortgages is but the tip of the iceberg for the comming economic collapse.  In 2008, unless the Federal Reserve and the Criminal Conspiracy Called the Bush Administration, bails out the billionaires who perpetrated the sub-prime mortgage greed machine, any aspirant to the middle class, trapped in the subprime mortgage meltdown, will re-enter the working poor class, their dream of middle class status deferred for who knows how long..
